Amarillo, TX : One injured in car vs. pedestrian collision on Monday night, September 29, 2014

Amarillo police are investigating a car versus pedestrian collision happening late Monday night. Around 9:15 pm, an officer reported pulling on to the scene of a collision at the 900 block of East Amarillo Boulevard. When the officer got out of his car to check on any injuries, the officer found a 57 year old male Little Arthur Clayton had walked out in front of a 2001 Plymouth Voyager van. Authorities say Clayton may have been leaving the Mi Tierra bar, located at East Amarillo Blvd and North Hayes Street. Clayton was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries but was in stable condition. The driver of the van, 32 year old Isaiah Sanchez-Hernandez was uninjured. Alcohol and the pedestrian violation are the contributing factors in this accident. No charges will be filed against the driver. An investigation into the cause of this accident is now underway.
