COLCHESTER, CT : 1 dead, 1 seriously injured after head-on collision in CT on Friday, 7th February, 2020

One person is dead and another seriously wounded after a head-on collision Friday afternoon, according to state police.
A vehicle being driven by a 61-year-old Colchester man was headed east on Route 16 as a vehicle being driven by 70-year-old Diane Wallis was headed west on Route 16, according to a summary prepared by Sgt. Erik Trotter.
The sergeant said Wallis “crossed over the double yellow center line” and that the other driver was not able to slow down or stop to avoid Wallis’ vehicle.
Trotter said Wallis then hit the front end of the other vehicle.
