DENVER,CO : 1 killed in crash on I-70 near Silverthorne on Tuesday, 25th July 2023

One person died in a crash Tuesday morning on Interstate 70 in the high country.

It happened around 8:34 a.m. on eastbound I-70 between Silverthorne and Silver Plume, according to Colorado State Patrol. Eastbound I-70 was closed from Exit 203-218.

U.S. 6 (Loveland Pass) was also closed. Drivers were experiencing major delays and were advised to use U.S. 40 or U.S. 285 as alternate routes.

The road had reopened around 11:47 a.m. Still, CDOT said the shoulders of I-70 were to be closed for bridge repair work.
