McLeansboro, IL : A 17-year-old died after a traffic crash at Hamilton County On Friday, July 22nd, 2016

A 17-year-old died after a traffic crash Friday in Hamilton County, according to Illinois State Police.

The juvenile male was driving a gold 1975 Chevrolet truck westbound at about 1:40 p.m. on Dahlgren Road, less than a mile east of Illinois 142, when he began to pass a vehicle traveling in front of him. The juvenile driver

applied his brakes and slid into the eastbound lane of Dahlgren Road, colliding with a 2014 New Holland farm tractor driven by Nathan D. Anselment, 20 of Dahlgren.

The 17-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office. Anselment did not report any injuries.

An Illinois State Police crash reconstruction officer is investigating the crash. Hamilton County Sheriff's Department, Hamilton County EMA, McLeansboro Police Department, Dahlgren Fire Deaprtment, Harre's Ambulance
