Indianapolis, IN : Students escape injury in morning bus crash on April, Wednesday 26th 2017
Students on a school bus headed to Wawasee Middle School escaped injuries this morning when the driver of an SUV drove into the path of the school bus, Indiana State Police said.
Around 7:30 a.m., police were called to the crash near the intersection of Indiana 13 and Kosciusko County Road 300 North, a statement from state police at Bremen said.
The school bus was traveling north on Indiana 13 when the driver of the SUV, Joe Sanchez, 46, whose address was not disclosed, had a vehicle malfunction while going south on Indiana 13. The malfunction forced him to go left of center into the path of the school bus, the statement said.
None of the children on the school bus were injured, police said, and were checked over by the school nursing staff at the middle school.
Sanchez was not injured, but a passenger in the SUV was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
