Concord, NC : 1 dead, 2 hurt in 3 car crash on Monday, December 19th 2016
A woman died in a three-car fatal wreck Monday during the morning commute.
According to N.C. State Highway Patrol, a woman was driving east on N.C. 24-27 near Pioneer Mill Road near Concord at about 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 19. According to witnesses, she allegedly crossed left of center, causing another car going west to lose control.
“He lost control and spins out, and the vehicle bumps her car and knocks her left of center,” 1st Sgt. F.J. Hargro with Highway Patrol said. “He ran off the road to the right and struck some trees.”
The first car, now perpendicular to the road, was struck by a third vehicle also traveling west, Hargro said.
“When she went left of center, she was kind of sideways, and her passenger door was hit by a black, mid-sized SUV,” he said. “She got T-boned, and she was killed as a result.”
Hargro said no names have been released yet, but the deceased is a white woman in her mid to late 50s.
The two surviving drivers were transported to the hospital for possible injuries, but Hargro said he wasn’t sure the extent of those.
