Cherry,IL: Rockford man killed in single-car accident on September, Thursday 21th 2017

A 21-year-old Rockford man died in a single-vehicle accident early today, Winnebago County Coroner Bill Hintz said.

Jacob Courtney was pronounced dead at 3:23 a.m. at the scene of the accident at Mill Road and Kindlewood Trail.

Courtney was traveling west in the residential area on Mill Road when he lost control of his car and struck a tree, Hintz said.

The accident is under investigation of the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department.

An autopsy is pending.
