A Boyne City teenager sustained minor injuries when the go-cart she was driving collided with a semi truck near East Jordan Sunday.
In a news release issued today, Monday, Charlevoix County Sheriff Don Schneider said the crash happened at about 4:15 p.m. on Rogers Road in South Arm Township.
Authorities said Autumn Healy, 16, from Boyne City, was driving a 2000 169cc Go Cart, when she accidentally cut across traffic and crossed the path of a semi-truck driven John
Bennett, 54 of Kalkaska, which was traveling west on Rogers Road. Deputies said Bennett was able to stop the 2013 Peterbilt semi, minimizing collision
A passenger in the Go Cart, Steven Spence, 17, of East Jordan, was treated on scene from minor injuries.
The East Jordan Fire Department, and East Jordan Ambulance assisted at the scene.
The incident is remains under investigation.
