El Paso, TX : Woman identified in West El Paso crash on Friday September 2 2016

A woman who died from her injuries in a West El Paso car accident Friday has been identified, officials said.

Maria Sanchez, 83, of El Paso, sustained serious injuries and was taken to University Medical Center where she died, the El Paso Police Department said. Sanchez was a passenger in Ford F-150 driven by Guadalupe Martinez, 73, of El Paso.

Police responded to a car accident Friday evening at 1300 N. Resler Dr. and Nardo Goodman Dr. According to a preliminary investigation, police found that Guadalupe Martinez, who was driving west on Nardo Goodman Drive, failed to yield the right of way at the intersection to Tiffany Nguyen, 28, of El Paso, who was driving north on Resler Drive. Nguyen crashed into the left side of Guadalupe Martinez's Ford F-150, police said.

Guadalupe Martinez and her second passenger Maria Martinez, 67, were taken to Las Palmas Medical Center for treatment. Nguyen was also taken to Las Palmas Medical Center for treatment.
