FREMONT, CA : Fatal Fremont hit-and-run collision under investigation on Tuesday, December, 5th 2017

The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office coroner’s bureau is headed to the scene of a crash that claimed a life Tuesday, authorities said.

At 5:37 p.m., police received a report of a person in a roadway in the city’s Warm Springs neighborhood. Officers responded to East Warren Avenue and Bradley Street, and found a person with several visible injuries lying amid vehicle debris.

Fremont firefighters also responded and pronounced the person dead at the scene, police said.

Other officers responded to check the area and found a unoccupied vehicle at the Franciscan Center at Warm Springs and Mission boulevards. Officers found and detained that vehicle’s driver and were interviewing him late Tuesday.

No information was immediately available about whether alcohol or illegal drugs were factors.
