AUGUSTA COUNTY, VA : A three-vehicle crash has left one person dead and another injured on Route 254 near Kiddsville road on Wednesday, 31st July 2019

Virginia State Police are investigating a deadly accident.

Just before 1:00 a.m Wednesday morning, a 2018 Hyundai Tucson was traveling east on Route 254 near Kiddsville rd. when it struck the rear bumper of a 2018 Subaru CrossTrek.

The Hyundai then crossed the center line and struck a 2003 Toyota Solara head-on.

The driver of the Hyundai, Samuel H. Melton, 52, of Bristol, Va., was transported to UVA Medical Center for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Toyota, Hailey D. Green, 18, of Staunton, Va., died at the scene.

The driver of the Subaru, Jean M. Scheer, 55, of Waynesboro, Va., was not injured in the crash.
