Munster, IN : Hammond man dies after accident Saturday, March 18, 2017

A 57-year-old man was pronounced dead at 4:40 a.m. Saturday after an accident along the 4000 block of Calumet Avenue, according to the Lake County coroner's office.

Mark Alexander, of the 0 block of Condit Street in Hammond, died from blunt force trauma in an accident, according to the coroner's office.

The Hammond Police Department and the Emergency Management Agency assisted the coroner's office at the scene, according to the coroner's news release.

A spokesman with the Hammond Police Department was not immediately available for comment Saturday afternoon.
