A Pasco County school bus for students with special needs crashed Wednesday with six students on board, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The students attend New River Elementary School, the FHP said, and none of them were injured. One adult, a student supervisor riding the bus, was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, according to FHP Sgt. Steve Gaskins.
The crash took place at the intersection of Ashley Pines Place and Dancing Bay Lane, near where State Road 54 and Meadow Poine Boulevard meet. The driver of the bus, Nonelona Christina Prince, 45, was turning left onto Ashley Pines Place. Prince took too narrow of a turn, according to the FHP, and the back rear wheels of the bus struck the front of a 2011 Cadillac CTS4 that was at a stop sign.
The intersection was temporarily closed Wednesday afternoon while FHP troopers and Pasco sheriff's deputies were on scene.
