Erie, PA : A McKean man died at an Erie hospital after a rollover crash on May, Saturday 6th 2017

A McKean man died at an Erie hospital after a rollover crash that occurred Saturday when he swerved his truck to avoid a deer.

Martin G. Huegel, 54, died Saturday at UPMC Hamot, state police at Lawrence Park said.Police said Huegel was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado south in the 9400 block of Fry Road at about 3:45 p.m. when he swerved to avoid striking a deer in the road. The truck’s right tires went into a deep ditch and after traveling about 100 feet in the ditch, the truck struck a culvert pipe and spun before rolling over, police said.

Huegel climbed out of the truck but went into cardiac arrest while being evaluated by medical personnel at the scene, police said. He was transported to Hamot, where he died, police said.
