Bridgeville, PA : Ellendale senior hospitalized after serious crash in Bridgeville on Tuesday, 4th September 2018

A senior citizen has been hospitalized in critical condition following a serious crash in Bridgeville.
According to the Delaware State Police Department, the crash occurred around 1:22 p.m. Tuesday as a 2011 Ford Fusion was stopped northbound on Cedar Corners Road about to cross over onto Redden Road.
A 2015 Kenworth T270, six wheel truck, was traveling westbound on Redden Road approaching the intersection of Cedar Corners Road when, for unknown reasons, the driver of the Fusion pulled directly in front of the path of the truck.The driver of the truck tried to avoid the Fusion by swerving to the right; however, the front bumper of the truck struck the right side of the Fusion.
The operator of the Fusion, an 85-year-old Ellendale woman, was properly restrained and transported by ambulance to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford. She was later transferred to Christiana Hospital in critical condition.
