Tallahassee, FL : A motorcyclist was killed in a collision on Sunday, July 2, 2017

A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a sport utility vehicle Sunday afternoon at the intersection of Dixie Highway and Osprey Street in Hobe Sound.

Ronald Allen McIntosh, 65, of Hobe Sound, was pronounced dead at Martin Hospital South, a Florida Highway Patrol report said.

McIntosh was driving a 1996 Harley-Davidson motorcycle north on Dixie Highway about 4 p.m. Sunday when he attempted to turn left onto Osprey Street, the report said.McIntosh failed to yield the right of way to a 2008 Ford Expedition traveling south on Dixie Highway and the two vehicles collided.

Martin County Fire Rescue workers transported McIntosh to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to FHP.

The driver of the Expedition, Concepcion Robles Alvarado, 47, of Port St. Lucie, suffered minor injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
