BEAUMONT, KS : A Parsons man died in a two-vehicle accident on Thursday, December, 28th 2017

A Parsons man died in a two-vehicle accident early Thursday east of Beaumont on US-400, the Kansas Highway Patrol said.

A Wichita man also died.

The KHP says the accident happened at 1:46 am Thursday on US-400 three miles east of Beaumont.

A 2016 Freightliner driven by Marcos Rodriguez-Reyes, 32, Wichita, was westbound on the highway and for unknown reasons drifted left of center. His semi-tractor trailer collided head-on with an eastbound Kenworth semi-tractor trailer driven by Darin K. Surridge, 35, Parsons.

Rodriguez-Reyes and Surridge were both pronounced dead at the scene. Both wore seat belts, the KPH report showed.
