Kane County, IL : 49-year-old John A. Peneschi died after a motorcycle crash in Hampshire Township on Saturday afternoon, May 21, 2016
A Streamwood man was killed in a Saturday crash involving two motorcycles in Hampshire Township, Kane County officials said.
John A. Peneschi, 49, died in the crash, which happened at 3:57 p.m. Saturday on Brier Hill Road south of Berner Road, according to a release from Kane County Sheriff's Lt. Chris Collins.
Police said Peneschi was riding a 2003 Harley-Davidson as part of a larger group of motorcycles traveling northbound on Brier Hill Road south of Berner Road when two of the motorcycles had difficulty navigating a curve and left the road.
The other riders in the group stopped to help them, and both injured drivers were transported to St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin, where Peneschi was pronounced dead.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and no charges have been filed, but police believe speed may be a contributing factor in the crash.
The driver of the other motorcycle that crashed, 27-year-old Vince Cincinello of Bloomingdale, was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening after the crash.
Kane County Sheriff's deputies were assisted at the scene by Hampshire police and fire personnel from Burlington and Pingree Grove.
The road remained closed for several hours after the crash as authorities investigated.
