Quincy, IL : Two injured in Hancock County crash on Wednesday August 31, 2016
Two people were injured Wednesday morning during a two-vehicle crash southeast of Warsaw in rural Hancock County.
The crash took place about 11:10 a.m. near an Illinois Department of Transportation truck that was striping the road, according to the Hancock County Sheriff's Department. Police said a 2009 Buick Lucerne driven by Kimberly S. Corrigan, 47, of Warsaw was slowed and following the IDOT truck traveling south on Ill. 96 a tenth of a mile north of County Road 750 East. Police said a 2008 Chrysler Town and Country driven by Tamara S. Hildebrand, 51, of Mendon, failed to reduce its speed and rear ended Corrigan's vehicle.
As a result of the crash, Corrigan's vehicle came to rest in a ditch on the opposite side of the road. Corrigan was transported by private vehicle to Blessing Hospital in Quincy. A passenger in her vehicle, Glenn H. Orr, 89, of Warsaw, was taken to Blessing by the Hancock County EMS. Hildebrand was not injured.
Police said the crash is under investigation and no tickets have been issued. The Warsaw Police Department and Warsaw Fire Department assisted at the scene.
