Fredericksburg,VI : Fiery chain-reaction crash kills two, injures another in Fauquier on June, Monday 12th 2017

State police say two people were killed and another seriously injured Monday morning in a fiery chain-reaction crash in Fauquier County.

According to a state police news release, the accident occurred at 7:29 a.m. in the northbound lanes of U.S. 29 near the intersection of Freemans Ford Road in Remington. Three vehicles were involved, the release said, with the impact causing one of them to catch fire.

State police say there were two confirmed fatalities and a third person was flown to a hospital with serious injuries. The names of the victims were not immediately released.

The Virginia State Police Culpeper Division Crash Reconstruction Team responded to the scene to help with the investigation. The Remington Fire Department and Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office were also assisting at the scene.
