One person was flown to the hospital with serious injuries following a head-on collision Saturday night.
Two other victims received non-life-threatening injuries in the crash that occurred at about 5 p.m. on Route 10. Both vehicles were heavily damaged in the crash, police said.
Northfield firefighters had to use the Jaws of Life to extract the driver from one sedan after the crash. That operator, who was alone in the car, was then flown to the University of Massachusetts Memorial Hospital for treatment, police said.The driver and passenger in the second car were brought to a local hospital by ambulance, police said.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Route 10 was closed for several hours while first responders helped the injured and investigated, police said.
