DARKE COUNTY, OH : Man injured in Darke County crash on Tuesday, 1st November 2016

A man was taken to the hospital after a single-vehicle crash in Darke County on Tuesday night.

The Darke County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of a vehicle into a utility pole just after 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday at the intersection of State Route 49 and Hollansburg-Sampson Road.

Investigators say a man driving a 1995 Dodge Dakota pickup truck was going south on SR 49 when he fell asleep at the wheel, crossed the center line and ran off the left side of the road.

The truck hit a utility pole, knocking out power to some area homes.

The victim has been identified as 32-year-old Craig S. Goubeaux from Greenville. Police say Goubeaux was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.

Goubeaux was taken to Wayne HealthCare for treatment of a head injury. His condition has not been released.

Arcanum Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
