LAMAR COUNTY, MS : One person died in an overnight crash on Interstate 59 on Tuesday, 17th April 2018

One person died in an overnight crash on Interstate 59 just south of the Old Highway 11 overpass in Lamar County.

Lamar County Coroner Cody Creel identified the victim as 18-year-old Tristan Samuel Freeman.

Creel said the wreck happened on the bridge over Little Black Creek. Officials said it appears the truck was traveling in the southbound lanes before leaving the roadway and ending up in the creek.

Only one vehicle was involved in the wreck, Creel said.
