A 36-year-old Waterford man died after the car he was driving crashed into a childcare center, sparking an early morning fire.

The accident occurred at about 3:30 a.m. Friday on Walton Boulevard at Leapin’ Lizards, which was not open at the time.

First responders found the 2009 GMC Acadia on fire in the parking lot of the facility, having struck a utility pole and two trees.
