Police on Long Island say a 30-year-old driver was killed when his vehicle struck a tree in East Moriches.

It happened just after 7 a.m. Sunday on Montauk Highway, just west of Bay Avenue.

Police say Thomas Kenny, of Yaphank, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
