Boulder, CO : 3-year-old hit by car while crossing the street on Sunday, March 6, 2016

A 3-year-old was injured after being hit by a car while crossing the street in the 1300 block of Mapleton at about 2 p.m. today, according to Boulder police Sgt. Cooper Grimes.

The child was taken by ambulance to Boulder Community Hospital with injuries that weren't life-threatening, he said.

He said the accident is still under investigation and a decision hasn't been made if the driver will be ticketed or charged. The driver cooperated with police, he added.

The child was part of a large group of people crossing the street mid-block after leaving Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, he said.
