Rolla, MO : Man seriously injured in a crash on I-44 in Franklin County Thursday morning, July 21, 2016

A Rolla man was seriously injured in a crash on Interstate 44 in Franklin County Thursday morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Michael L. Leppo, 41, was driving a 2005 Ford F-350 eastbound on the interstate near mile marker 227 at about 6:43 a.m.

The patrol report states that Leppo lost control of the vehicle, and it traveled off the left side of the road. The Ford struck a cable barrier, and Leppo overcorrected, causing the vehicle to travel off the right side of the road and overturn.

Leppo was flown to Mercy Hospital Creve Coeur for his injuries. The vehicle was totaled.
The patrol report states Leppo was not wearing a seat belt.
