Troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol say one person is dead after being hit by a truck early Tuesday morning.
The crash happened on Highway 52 near Peru road in St. Stephen around 12:30 a.m., according to Lance Cpl. Sonny Collins.
A 2005 Ford pickup was traveling west on the highway when the driver hit and killed the victim, a pedestrian.
The driver of the truck was not injured and will not face charges, Collins says.
The name of the victim has not been released.
