A Chippewa Township woman accused of running away from the scene of car crash with an infant in her arms was sentenced to probation after she made a plea in the case.
According to online court records, Rachel L. Beaumont, 25, pleaded guilty on May 16 to one count of reckless endangerment. She was sentenced to one year on probation, records show.
Beaumont was involved in a crash in the 2400 block of Darlington Road in Chippewa Township, according to an initial police report. Police said she hit the back of a car which was in the process of making a right turn.
Police said Beaumont first asked the other driver to not call 911, then pulled an infant from the backseat of her car and ran away.
