Bunnell, FL : Driver killed in high-speed chase on U.S. 1 at State Road 100 in Bunnell on Tuesday, November 18, 2014

A man who was fleeing from police is dead after a crash on U.S. 1 at State Road 100 in Bunnell. Ronald Evans, 30, barreled through an intersection in a Chevy Impala, smashing into several cars before crashing to a stop. Witnesses said they knew the driver of the red Impala was going to lose control. Evans had been stopped for speeding, and troopers said he at first cooperated, but then the trooper noticed a narcotic smell emanating from the Impala. "There was possible signs of impairment, and he was going to do further investigation on that. When he approached back to the car, the subject drove off at a high rate of speed," said Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Robert Asbill. Evans took off on troopers, heading north on U.S. 1, right through a red light. "It just flew through. I would say it had to have been 100 mph. It just clipped the truck, and it was like a maroon flash and it was gone," said witness Joseph Racine. Officials say the Impala started spinning, and debris broke the window of a parked Ford Explorer. Then the Impala hit another parked pickup and a boat before coming to rest in a mangled mess. Evans was killed instantly. Source : Fleeing driver killed in high-speed crash in Bunnell
