Hanover, PA : Alcohol, speed factors in Paradise Twp. crash on Friday September 23 2016

Two people were killed in a two-vehicle crash Friday after the driver of one of the vehicles failed to stop for a stop sign, police said Saturday.

Kevin Shaffer, 32, of New Oxford was driving north on North Lake Road in the area of East Berlin Road around 5:10 p.m. Friday when he failed to stop for a stop sign, according to a news release from Northern York County Regional Police. Shaffer's vehicle traveled into the path of sedan driven by a 70-year-old man, causing the crash.

Shaffer was taken by helicopter to York Hospital, where he died of his injuries. Shaffer was the driver and only occupant of his vehicle.
