Plainsboro, NJ : 95-year-old George Tenev killed, wife and son seriously injured when car strikes tree on Mapleton Road on Sunday, February 22, 2015

Authorities say an elderly man was killed and his wife and son were seriously injured when a car driven by the son struck a tree in central New Jersey.

Plainsboro police say 95-year-old George Tenev of Princeton was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred around 2:30 p.m. Sunday on Mapleton Road.

Tenev's 90-year-old wife, Helena, and the couple's 62-year-old son, Jovi, of Princeton Junction, were being treated at hospitals for undisclosed "life-threatening" injuries. But further details on their conditions have not been disclosed.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
