las vegas, NV : Woman dies after being hit by car in northeast valley on Wednesday afternoon September 9 2015

A woman died after being hit by a car this evening while apparently crossing the street in the northeast valley, according to Metro Police.
Officers were called to the scene of the accident about 8 p.m. near Lake Mead Boulevard and Sloan Lane.
The pedestrian was hit by a four-door sedan, and the driver of the car remained at the scene after the crash, Lt. Kendall Bell said.
Metro's fatal detail is responding.It was not immediately clear if the pedestrian was in a crosswalk during the crash.
