Memphis, TN : Man dies in fiery motorcycle crash at Third Street and Peebles Road on Wednesday, May 4, 2016
A man died when he crashed his motorcycle.
The crash happened at Third Street and Peebles Road around 2 p.m.
The motorcycle caught fire after the crash. Witnesses said the biker was going over 100 miles per hour.
"It was a big boom," Kevin Williams said. "It was a big pop. It was a big boom; I looked and a gentleman was flying through the air, and when when I ran over there, his motorcycle was on fire."
Witnesses said the motorcycle was going north on Third Street. They said the driver went through a green light at Pebbles and hit a white truck that was pulling onto Third. The impact threw the motorcyclist at least 100 feet.
"I knew when I saw that man flying in the air he was hurt, but I didn't know it would be anything like that," another witness said.
Police have not identified the motorcyclist. It is unclear what condition the driver of the truck is in.
