Lysander, NY : 34-year-old Shawn Fatcheric dies in fiery crash in Onondaga County on Saturday, November 15, 2014

Sheriff's deputies say a 34-year-old man has died after his car slammed into a tree and burst into flames in Onondaga County. The accident happened just before 2 p.m. Saturday in the town of Lysander. The victim is identified as 34-year-old Shawn Fatcheric of Phoenix. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The sheriff's office says Fatcheric was driving his 2003 Hyundai sedan on Pendergast Road when he suddenly veered to the opposite lane, went off the road and hit a tree. Fire quickly engulfed the vehicle. Fatcheric was the only one inside and was trapped by the impact. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
