Crossville, TN : An early morning head-on crash on May, Thursday, 18th 2017
An early morning head-on crash during the dark hours of Thursday morning has resulted in the death of one motorist and vehicular homicide charges being filed against the second driver.
A third driver escaped injury.
The crash occurred at 12:17 a.m. on Hwy. 127 N in the area of Rinnie.
Dead at the scene was John V. Rowe, 46, of Deerlodge, according to Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Jake Bramer’s report. Not injured were Meghan E. Wilson, 36, Crossville, and Dwight D. Pollard, 67, Deerlodge.
Wilson is charged with vehicular homicide, driving under the influence and violation of the implied consent law.
Wilson was driving a 2006 Dodge pickup south in the north lane, according to Bramer’s report. Her vehicle crashed into a 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Rowe who was ejected. Debris from the crash then struck a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Pollard, causing minor damage.
Cumberland County fire and sheriff’s departments responded to the scene along with an ambulance and THP.
Wilson was jailed at the Cumberland County Justice Center and will make an appearance in General Sessions Court to answer the charge.
