A person was hospitalized with serious injuries after a multivehicle collision Monday night on the San Tomas Expressway, police said.

Three vehicles crashed at 5:27 p.m. on San Tomas Expressway, just north of Monroe Street, said California Highway Patrol Officer Marc Johnston. A silver Honda, black Honda and an unidentified red vehicle were involved.

One person with major injuries was transported to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, Johnston said. A person was arrested for unknown reasons.
