Madison, WI : 3 Chicago women killed in crash in Uber car in Milwaukee on Sunday, 23rd October 2016

Three Chicago women riding in an Uber car were killed in a hit-and-run crash early Sunday in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

A 2015 Lexus R350 was heading south on North 2nd Street when it went through a red light and struck a 2013 Ford Fusion heading west on West Clybourn Avenue about 2:50 a.m., according to Milwaukee police.

The driver of the Ford, a 41-year-old man working as an Uber driver, remains hospitalized Monday in critical condition, police said.

His three passengers — Ashley L. Sawatzke, 30; Amy C. Taylor, 32; and Lindsey B. Cohen, 35 — were all killed in the crash, police said. All three women were from Chicago.

The driver and passenger in the Lexus ran away after the crash, but the driver, a 23-year-old man, turned himself in to police Monday, according to police.
