Jacksonville, FL : 64-year-old woman dies in single-car crash in South San Marco early Sunday morning, May 1, 2016

A 64-year-old woman died in a single-car crash early Sunday morning in South San Marco.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, Nancy Melvin was driving south just after 1 a.m. on San Jose Boulevard, off Hendricks just south of Emerson Street when her car left the road and struck a tree.

Melvin died at the scene.

There were no witnesses. Police said alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash and police were still investigating what caused Melvin to leave the road.
