A 26-year-old man died after an early-morning crash Sunday in Lansing.

The man was driving a car north on Torrence Avenue in Lansing onto the eastbound lanes of Interstate 80/94 when he lost control and slammed into the concrete median, Illinois State Police Trooper Anthony Martino said. The single-vehicle accident took place at about 4:30 a.m. Sunday.

The driver was taken to Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, where he was pronounced dead. He was the only person in the vehicle, and no other cars were involved.

The Cook County medical examiner's office said it could not yet identify the victim, pending notification of the family.
