Harrisburg, OR : Halsey teen injured, truck ripped in half in crash near Harrisburg on Wednesday night, February 22, 2017
A Halsey teenager was treated for minor injuries Wednesday night after his pickup truck crashed, rolled and struck a utility pole near Harrisburg, according to the Linn County sheriff.
The 1989 Toyota pickup was torn in half after it failed to make it around a curve on Powerline Road near the intersection of Diamond Hill Drive, Sheriff Bruce Riley said. The 17-year-old driver, whose name was not released because of his age, was able to get out of the vehicle and walk to a nearby home to call 911, Riley said.
The teen was taken to PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield for treatment. Riley said the teen was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Alcohol or drugs were not suspected to be factors in the crash, he said.
