Paducah, KY : A Dawson Springs man died in a crash on April, Sunday 16th 2017
A Dawson Springs man died Sunday in a two-vehicle collision in Trigg County.
Joseph L. Cotton, 43, was pronounced dead at Trigg County Hospital following the wreck, around 4:45 p.m., Kentucky State Police Trooper Jody Cash said.
Police said Cotton was driving a 200 Ford Ranger north on Ky. 139 when he tried to cross U.S. 68/80, failing to yield to a 2002 Toyota Highlander driven westbound by Dustin B. Francis, 28, of Murray, Cash said.
The vehicles collided at the intersection, causing Cotton, who was not wearing his seatbelt, to be ejected. Cotton and Francis were both taken to the hospital. Francis was treated for his injuries and then released, according to Cash.
The investigation is continuing by Trooper Aaron Acree.
