Needham, MA : 52-year-old James Jacobs identified as elevator worker killed in industrial accident on Tuesday, 3rd September 2019

The elevator worker who died during an industrial accident at TripAdvisor’s headquarters in Needham Tuesday has been identified by police as 52-year-old James Jacobs.

Needham police said Jacobs’ last known address is in Westport.

“Once again, our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and co-workers,” Needham police said. “The accident is still under investigation by the Needham Police, state police assigned to the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office and OSHA.”Needham police officers and firefighters were called to TripAdvisor’s headquarters at 400 1st Ave. around 8:30 a.m. for a report of an industrial accident.

Jacobs, who worked for Otis Elevator company, died in the accident.
