Bushnell, FL : Three people injured after a car collided with a tractor trailer on State Road 44 in Sumter County on Saturday, April 16, 2016

Three people were injured after a car collided with a tractor trailer Saturday in Sumter County, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

A tractor trailer traveling eastbound was making a U-turn onto the westbound side of SR-44. A car that was traveling westbound struck the center of the truck and became wedged underneath.

The driver of the car, Clayton Tripp of Wildwood, was taken to the hospital in critical. The two passengers in the car, Dianne Tripp and Janice Tripp of Ohio were also taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the tractor trailer, Erwin Williams, was cited for a right-of-way violation, troopers said.
