A 7-year-old girl was in critical condition tonight after a car ran a red light and crashed into a motorcycle in Lancaster last night, killing the motorcycle's driver and injuring the girl who was his passenger.
Lancaster Police said Devin Downour, 20, of Rushville, Ohio, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs in the crash that killed James E. Lowe Jr., 63, of Lancaster, and injured Hailey N. Derbyshire, 7, also of Lancaster. Lowe died after the crash at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster.
Hailey, who is Lowe's granddaughter by marriage, was flown to Nationwide Children’s Hospital where she remained tonight.
