Greeley, CO : Wiggins man dies in traffic crash southwest of New Raymer early Thursday morning, September 22, 2016

Colorado State Patrol troopers and the Weld County coroner are investigating the traffic-related death of a Wiggins man who was found in his vehicle early Thursday morning.

According to a news release from the coroner’s office, Robert Luna, 66, was found in his vehicle around 1:30 a.m., near the intersection of Weld County roads 74 and 121, about 6 miles southwest of New Raymer. According to the release, Luna was the vehicle’s driver and only occupant. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The exact date and time of the fatality aren’t known. However, it appears Luna was involved in a single-vehicle crash, the release stated.

Luna’s death is the 39th on Weld County roads and highways this year. By this time last year, 48 people had died in traffic fatalities within the county.
