Wausau, WI : Police seek driver who fled on foot after hit-and-run crash on June 14th 2014
Police are searching for a driver who fled on foot after causing a crash Saturday morning that shut down Highway 45 in central Wisconsin for seven hours.
A 48-year-old woman driving the other vehicle was airlifted to Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
The driver who fled was towing a boat behind a 2011 Toyota FJ Cruise and crossed over the center line while driving south on Highway 45, police say.
The Toyota hit a Cadillac driven by the 48-year-old woman. Highway 45 was shut down for about seven hours while the Wisconsin State Patrol investigated and reconstructed the scene.
The crash occurred at about 7:50 a.m., just north of Birnamwood, a village about 20 miles east of Wausau.
The Shawno County Sheriff's Department said the crash remains under investigation.
