ELBA, AL : Mother, son killed in Elba fatal collision on Saturday, 2nd February 2019

The victims in Saturday’s fatal collision on Oak Orchard Road were two Albion residents, the New York State Police reported Sunday.
The driver of the Chevrolet, Jeffrey S. Toussaint, 59, of Albion, was transported to Erie County Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries. Hospital officials said he was treated and released Saturday.
The driver of the Suzuki, Teresa M. Norton, 53, and the passenger, her son, Thomas M. Norton, 22, both of Albion, were both declared dead at the collision scene by Genesee County Coroner Karen Lang.
Robyn Moore, whose cousin, Kim, is Teresa Norton’s daughter and Thomas Norton’s sister, said she was not close to Teresa or Thomas Norton, but was able to share some thoughts on them.
“Teresa and my uncle divorced when my cousin, Kim, was very young. Thomas went to high school with my daughter and also worked with the same crew as her at Albion Walmart. I am devastated for my cousin (Kim) over this tragic loss,” Moore said. “Her mom was her best friend. Kimberly is seven months pregnant with her second child. Teresa was so excited because she was going to be getting a granddaughter!
“Teresa was a sweet lady and kept Kimberly close with our family after the divorce, and after my uncle passed away,” Moore said. “She had a beautiful smile. I always remember her being friendly with us and with that smile!
“The world is a little dimmer today with their lights gone out...may they RIP (rest in peace),” she said of Teresa and Thomas Norton.
Moore’s daughter, Summer Moore, said she, unfortunately, didn’t have a chance to get to know Teresa Norton. However, she went to school with Thomas Norton and they knew each other for years, she said.
