PROSPECT, KY : 1 man killed, another in hospital with life-threatening injuries after crash near Prospect on Friday, 28th August, 2020

One man is dead and another is in critical condition after a single-vehicle crash Friday evening near Prospect, police said.

The crash was reported around 10 p.m. in the 10600 block of U.S. Highway 42, according to the Louisville Metro Police Department.Investigators said a man driving a car east on U.S. 42, for reasons unknown, lost control of the vehicle, went off the right side of the road and struck a concrete mailbox.

According to LMPD, the vehicle then rotated and struck a fence.

The driver, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, another man, was taken to University Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
