PAYNE COUNTY, OK : An 81-year-old woman died in a multivehicle crash on Friday, August 11, 2017

An 81-year-old woman died Friday evening in a multivehicle crash in Payne County.

A 2013 Dodge Challenger was traveling west on State Highway 51-C about 4 miles west of Stillwater when it hit the back of a 2008 Nissan Frontier, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol accident report. The Frontier left the road and hit a tree.

The woman, who has been identified as Phyllis Ann Sams, was pronounced dead at the scene.

An 83-year-old man also was injured in the crash. He is in good condition, the report said.

Sams and the 83-year-old man were in the Frontier, the report said.

Authorities have not said what caused the Challenger to rear-end the Frontier.
